Smoothies are a fast and easy way to jam protein, fiber, vitamins, and other nutrients into your diet. And, if you want to lose weight, drinking smoothies as meal replacements, especially in the summertime, is a delightfully convenient and delicious way to significantly slash some calories.

This Cacao Bliss Smoothie is as much a breakfast/mini-meal to kick-start your day or an afternoon pick-me-up snack, as much as it is a quick and super-healthy dessert! A smoothie that's perfect for any time of the day!

Its powerhouse combination of ingredients makes it more filling and satiating than other smoothies we know. The frozen bananas, rich in potassium, which is essential for our memory and muscles to function properly, also give it body and its natural sweetness.

Oatmeal adds fiber, which is essential for a healthy digestive system and a healthy weight, and makes the smoothie more filling. Nuts and nut butter add protein and healthy fats, and Cacao… well, Cacao gives it everything!

Cacao is full of magnesium, iron, manganese, chromium, plant-based protein, and good fats and is exceptionally high in theobromine, PEA, and anandamide - the energy, love, and bliss chemicals! Ingredients

  • 1 oz Keith’s Cacao
  • 1 ½ frozen bananas (or 2 depending on the size)
  • 8 almonds (or nuts of choice)
  • 1 ½ tbs peanut butter or nut butter of choice
  • 4 tbs oatmeal (or 6, depending on the preferred thickness)
  • 1 pear or apple (green, yellow or red)
  • 2 oz hot water
  • 10 oz cold water (or up to 16 oz, depending on the preferred thickness)
  • 2 tbs Maya Nut, Maca or other preferred superfood - Optional

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 oz of water to a near boil.
  2. Once the water is warm enough, put it in the blender with your Cacao, and blend for 15 seconds.
  3. Add the nuts, peanut butter, oatmeal and superfoods, if you are using any, to the blender and blend for a further 30 seconds.
  4. Add the pear/apple, the frozen bananas, and cold water to the mix. Blend for 2 minutes more.
  5. Serve and enjoy your Cacao Bliss Smoothie!
